AIRROBE
A tech start-up creating a more sustainable fashion industry.
Product Design | UI + UX | Branding | Consumer Campaigns

PROJECT OVERVIEW
AUG 2020 – MAR 2021
I worked with Airrobe in their early stages to influence sustainable buying behaviour. Airrobe's plugin integrates directly to ecommerce sites to prompt customers to save details of their fashion purchases in a virtual circular wardrobe, so they can re-sell their clothes easily at a later date. This product responds to a huge rise in consumer efforts to shop more sustainably and is a strong step towards a more conscious fashion industry.
MY CONTRIBUTIONS
GRAPHIC / BRAND / PRODUCT DESIGN
My role included user research, interaction, visual design, prototyping & testing and creating marketing/sales collateral. Developing a brand voice to speak to both B2b and B2c customers to clearly explain a new product and behaviour is challenging. In my time at Airrobe we successfully onboarded 2 to 38 online retailers – including Australia's largest fashion marketplace, The Iconic.

THE UX PROCESS
AT AN EARLY STAGE START UP
From a product idea to execution and going live in market, it was so satisfying unfolding the process to develop a game-changing product that has a positive impact on the fashion industry. It was a challenging and rewarding process, but watching it come to life on Australia's favourite fashion brands and integrate seamlessly is a highlight of my career.
As my first real deep dive into the UX process, I thoroughly enjoyed having the time and space to properly research and discover user needs and consider every aspect of the product journey. My role at Airrobe also included brand design, marketing, creating investor pitch decks, onboarding templates, annual reports and other design collateral.

USER RESEARCH

USER RESEARCH OUTCOMES
EARLY STAGE USABILITY TESTING
After several iterations and two complete prototypes of the Airrobe widget, we tested two groups of 5 foreign users and watched how they interacted with the product in its' early stage.
The learnings from this usability study was key in developing the next stage of the product. The product itself wasn't the design problem, we needed to refocus future solutions around language and understanding new terms such as 'Circular Wardrobe' and 'Circular Economy'.
Ideate, Prototype, Test
Over the 5 month project, we went through
3 rounds of formal user testing.

UX PROCESS SUMMARY & KEY LEARNINGS

REALISING THE IDEAL USER JOURNEY

UX COMPONENTS: Toggle Button, Expansion Box & Pop Ups.

USER CENTRIC DESIGN
Making users and brands feel happy and proud for partaking in the Circular Fashion Economy.
Working with the engineering team to launch on 2 e-commerce sites initially, we developed components and UI elements that can be slightly altered so they would not look out of place on any brands' ecommerce site. The widget consisted of a toggle-on button which can be launched on any e-commerce website for users to opt in and join the circular economy.
